It is not possible to drive across the Panama-Colombia border, and consequently, many travelers utilize sailboats that transport passengers between Cartagena and Panama on a regular basis. Many of these sailboats can accommodate motorcycles if space is reserved in advance. From Cartagena it is just a short drive or bus ride to Barranquilla.
