Scuba Diving in Colombia

As tourism grows, it is becoming more and more widely publicized that Colombia is amongst the cheapest places in the world to receive a diving certification, and with incredible Caribbean reef habits, unquestionably one of the greatest values on the planet.  Calipso Dive Center is one of Taganga's longest running scuba operations.  Their dive instructors have more than 10 years of experience and are available to answer any questions and put aside any concerns new divers might have.

Calipso 3-day Dive Safari

Many divers elect to receive their certification while participating in one of Calipso's 3-day Dive Safaris out of beautiful Tayrona National Park.  A minimum of 4 people are required to organize a dive safari, but do not hesitate to contact the center if you have less than 4, as they can often coordinate with other interested parties.

The 3-day Safaris include transportation and entrance into Tayrona National Park, meals, hammocks, international NAUI certification, 6 day time dives, and 1 night time dive.  The camp site is located at Playa de Amor, a beautiful beach in the heart of Tayrona that does not experience the droves of backpackers present at Arrecifes and Cabo San Juan.

Calipso Specialty Dives

Calipso Dive Center offers specialty dives for divers of varying levels of experience including, night dives, cave dives, wreck dives, search and rescue dives, deep water dives, underwater photography, and more.

Environmental Stewardship

The Calipso Dive Center takes their roll as environmental stewards of this incredible coastline very seriously, participating in a number of programs ranging from beach clean-ups, invasive species management, and support of endangered coral reef species.  Volunteer opportunities are available for those interested in participating in these projects.
